TREASURES OF THE TEXAS COAST Children's Art Contest 2007
WHO: All Texas students (public, private, and home-schooled) in grades K-6 are invited to participate.
WHAT: 11th Annual Treasures of the Texas Coast Children's Art Contest. Entries must incorporate the "Trashing Texas Beaches Isn't Cool" slogan. Artwork must be displayed on an 8.5" by 11" flat page and can be any medium except computer generated. Three-dimensional art will not be accepted. All entries must include an entry/parental consent form attached on the back.
Two winners will be chosen from each governing region in Texas, for a total of 48 winners. One grand prize winner will be chosen from among the 48. Winning artwork will appear together on a 2008 calendar, which will be distributed throughout the state. The grand prize winner will receive two round-trip coach-class tickets from Continental Airlines to any Continental destination in the 48 contiguous United States and a class party at Schlitterbahn Waterparks (New Braunfels, South Padre Island or Galveston). All 48 winners will receive a ticket to the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi, two all-day passes to Schlitterbahn, prizes from Keep Texas Beautiful, a certificate of recognition from Texas General Land Office, and a calendar displaying the winner artwork. The grand prize winner's teacher will also receive two round-trip coach-class tickets from Continental Airlines.
WHEN: All submissions must be postmarked by Friday, March 2, 2007 and mailed to the Texas General Land Office. Late submissions will not be accepted.
HOW: Review the contest guidelines and sign the entry/parental consent form, and attach the form to the back of the entry. Mail all entries to the Texas General Land Office.
